William B. Harrington

5-7-1962 – 3-20-2005

My son and I have created this special square in remembrance of my husband and father Billy Harrington. We chose yellow fabric because that is my son’s favorite color. Yellow also represents sunshine, life and happiness.

Billy was a big man full of life which ended when he was only 42-years-old. Billy was a huge supporter of being an organ donor. He always said, “that he doesn’t need anything when I am gone. Can’t take them with you.” His thought was to help people even when he was gone.

Even though the death of Billy was a very sad time, we did find joy knowing he helped out others by organ donation. Reading the letter from the man who received his corneas and hearing he can now see his family again and got his life back again.

We are very proud of the decisions our Billy made and we spread the word to others to become organ donors.
