I DIED THE WAY I LIVED, FIGHTING STRONG AND HARD.
This quilt square represents my husband Charles Massey’s favorite football team. Even though I myself am a Eagles fan, this team fits him exactly. They are always fighting hard and strong, and never giving up. Charles took everything head on, and never ever gave up on life or anything that he did or came in his path. When he was diagnosed with diabetes and then kidney disease, he did not let that stop him at all. Rather, it made him want to fight even harder. He took on the responsibility of doing dialysis from home. Which in itself amazed a lot of people, myself included, but that was just the person he was. He never gave up on working until he was forced to. But this roadblock did not stop him from helping out his family when and where ever they needed him. Charles wanted to make sure that he could give life to someone else. Even if it wasn’t much that he could give, he wanted to do something for someone in need.
I AM NOT DEAD.
Only my physical body is gone, and I now know that our bodies are just a small part of who we really are. I am aware that you miss my voice and my physical presence, but my soul and spirit are very much alive!
The times when you’ve felt my energy, I really was there next to you, and I am now. We each have a unique energy fingerprint, and you recognize mine when I am with you. Trust that feeling! I now see that I never had anything to fear, there is no death.
