This quilting square is in honor of our son, Damian Michael Wolfe, born December 17th, 2001, at 5:55 a.m. The picture we chose is from when he was a few years younger, but it has always been one of our favorites. Damian’s radiant smile shown in this photo is one of his features we miss most. He was able to make us laugh daily with his sense of humor. The quote, “I am unique in my own ways”, was from the last line of one of his college essays, and he couldn’t have been more truthful. There could never be anyone quite like him. He loved his family, especially his big brother. He enjoyed running and being outside. We will forever miss his goofy jokes and one-of-a-kind laugh. The paw prints represent a wolf, Damian’s favorite animal, and they are also in remembrance of a matching tattoo that he was supposed to get with his father, but unfortunately they never had the chance. The color blue was chosen for the fabric since it was his favorite color (just like his mom and little sister). The yellow thread was chosen as an accent color because Damian’s favorite football team was the San Diego Chargers, and their main colors are blue and yellow. We tragically lost our son/brother/grandson/nephew/cousin/friend on December 29th, 2022 at 1:43 p.m. This project will help us keep his memory alive, and remind people of the Hero he was, which his father and I always knew. Our sweet and kind son, Damian Michael Wolfe, forever 21 years old.
