John Miller Jr.

My father, my Daddy, John “Butch” Miller Jr. You held me as I took my first breath and I held you as you tool your last on May 3rd, 2016. You were and always will be the most amazing, strong willed, loving, caring, family oriented and most important man in my life. Not a day goes by that I don’t yearn for your guidance, love and presence. You are missed so much by all four grandchildren Camryn, Manaia, Zoie and Parker, You showed me to stand tall when I wanted to take some steps back. I miss calling you six times a day. You would just continue to answer and your words were always “What could you possibly want now, dear.” I would giggle and say, “hi.” To go through life as you did; to bury a child tragically at her age of 27 took a toll on you, but you refused to let people see your pain. We did not always see eye to eye but one thing for sure was regardless of my decisions in life you always had my back.

Getting the phone call on May 3rd, 2016 from Gift of Life gave me such mixed emotions. I was not ready to hear or be asked about donation, all I kept thinking was seriously he just passed away today. After gathering my thoughts and understanding this is their job, this is where I could help and my dad could help. If he could speak right now he would say “to help everyone he possibly could.” My dad ALWAYS GAVE to anyone he could just to see a smile on their face. I am glad I could help another person/family out so they could still continue to make memories with their loved ones.

LOVE YOU DADDY!
