CHEERS! ‘No More Tears’ for John Ritchie Evans
Three hundred words doesn’t seem like enough to describe the life my husband lived before a brain aneurysm took his life, simultaneously giving him the opportunity to become an organ donor. His life was full of kindness and love for everyone he met. As you can probably tell from the KISS background on his quilt square, John loved ‘nothin but a good time’. He loved KISS, Pink Floyd, Journey, AC/DC. And so many other rock’n’roll bands. John was always the life of the party and made sure everyone was happy and having fun while always keeping their glasses full. He was the neighborhood prankster, especially on April Fools’ Day, and also the neighborhood repairman.
Known for his light-hearted nature, John was also a devoted family man and animal lover. He was so proud of his two children, Jaclyn and Ian. They were the loves of his life and it showed through his actions and support. His advice of “it is what it is” was well-known and heard often when things didn’t go just as planned; instead of complaining, John always took things in stride and figured out ways to deal with unforeseen circumstances. He never gave up when figuring out a solution or helping someone else who needed assistance.
John was a beloved son, brother, friend, husband, and father who is dearly missed every day. He is so much more than three hundred words can say. If you’re ever frustrated by a situation, remember what my husband would say—“IT IS WHAT IT IS,” laugh instead of cry, and know life is too short. Though we wish he was still here, my children and I are certain John is in Heaven now “Rock n Rolling all night and partying every day!”
