Larry Robert Smith

October 31, 1946 – September 3, 2012

Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved his family very much. He was a proud and quiet man. Larry loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He played guitar, collected coins, read books, and enjoyed listening to music. He was a big Steelers fan. He worked as a sprinkler fitter and was a member of Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 for 43 years. He was a patriot and loved his country.

The pumpkin on his patch represents his birthday. He was his mother’s first born child and she called him her little pumpkin. Later when we were married and had children of our own, our children wanted to watch the Great Pumpkin Patch on television. They kept talking about the Great Pumpkin and I told them you are living with the Great Pumpkin. They looked at me confused. So I explained to them that your daddy was born on Halloween and he is our Great Pumpkin.

When Larry was out and about he always wore his cowboy hat and boots. Larry was in the grocery store and a young boy came up to him and said, Mister, are you a cowboy? Larry replied, No, only in spirit.

Larry will be forever loved – never forgotten by his family and friends. We will always cherish the love he gave to us and never forget all the memories that we made.
