We dedicate our “Threads of Love” in memory of Robert J. Downs Jr. Our Bobby left this earth too early at the age of 49. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, godfather and friend. Bobby loved Philadelphia sports and enjoyed sharing this love of his favorite teams with friends and family. Bobby owned and operated Downs Diesel Repair. He was proud of his work and cherished the many relationships he made through the years including the bond he had with his parents that was strengthened by working side by side with them each and everyday.
Bobby worked hard and made sure to “play hard”. He was a great friend and was always there for others when needed.
We were blessed to have Bobby in our lives and though he is missed everyday, we know Bobby would want to help others in anyway possible as this was the way he led his life. Whenever any of his family or friends needed help with anything, mechanically related or not, whenever you called Bobby he would always make time to help you. That is what made him the special friend that he was. We hope his “gifts of living” have been passed on to others who may recognize that even in death, Bobby was there to help others. That was who he was and by giving these “gifts”, our family hopes to continue his legacy of giving.
