Samuel Thomas Wardell

From the time we were young children, we can remember listening to 610 WIP sports radio. Sam Wardell was a lover of sports. He could eat, breath, and talk about current sports events as well as past events. If we were to get in the car with him… we knew we could be listening to sports talk radio and highlights of a game.  Sam was especially fan to our Philadelphia teams, Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers being his favorites as well as the “Fighting Irish” Notre Dame Football team; therefore, we knew we had to incorporate this on to his patch.

There is a also message from his grandchildren to their pop pop, Sam was very involved with his grandchildren and spent much time with them, where he left a special place in their hearts for him. The quote we chose to share to represent Sam’s donation was “let someone see the beauty through your eyes.” He was a giving man throughout his life, so it’s no wonder he was a donor. His beautiful green eyes were donated once he no longer needed them and today, we hope, someone is able to use them to see beauty of the world that he is now seeing from above.

This patch represents many aspects of the man we have come to know as our father and husband. Today we share it with other who have shared likewise and the message we send with it is to give in life.
