William J. Whitaker III

This is a quilt square in honor of William Joseph Whitaker III. May 24, 1985, Son, Brother, Friend, Loving Father to Juliette and Godfather to Kayla. He was all catholic in Tennis, an avid hunter, fisherman, and could create a meal out of nothing. He was funny, handsome, and charming. Billy was a man of great compassion for his family and friends. He believed in doing anything for his family and fellow man, whether he knew them or not. He was a man of extreme generosity and faith. He was a man that would give his shirt off of his back to those in need. He was, without a doubt, the hardest working man I have ever been around. His work ethic instilled character worth more than anything monetary. He would use his last dollar to ensure his daughter had the perfect sweater or his niece had money to start a college fund. His joy and innate sense of humor was quite possibly his best gift. He gave all the gift of laughter in so many ways, so many times. He loved to be with his family and see them smile. He was a simple man…. Simple enough to go to the extreme lengths to bring joy to his family. He was very smart, gave the best bear hugs, and protected everyone. Billy, we miss you and love you so much. All will miss your smile, your laughter, your charm, your protective ways and unconditional love. WE put you in God’s hands and because of that three people were able to live a better life. You are in our hearts forever and I know you are with God watching over us and cracking him up – till we meet again.
