Wilson Young, M.D.

Dr. Wilson Young, M.D., Ph.D. passed away from stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma on November 16, 2022 at the age of 49 years old. Each of the patches on his quilt square share a part of his story. They describe some of the memories, the laughter, and the love his friends and family have for him. Wilson obtained his medical degree and doctorate degree from New York Medical College and was a dedicated physician and scientist. He was an electrophysiologist who loved his job and his patients. Wilson was not only a scientist, but a beloved husband and father. He leaves behind his wife, Bonnie, who he lovingly called “his moo” and his two children Emma, 2, and Theodore, 4, who adored him. Wilson’s family, originally from Taiwan, moved to New York and he was born and raised in New York City. He loved the New York Mets baseball team and had a passion for cars, especially his Tesla. Wilson made everyone around him smile and laugh with his sense of humor. A sense of humor that can be quite silly at times. Each year he would bring him a pie on March 14th to celebrate Pi Day. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed. Wilson made a lasting  on everyone and his life will continue to be celebrated and his contributions to science and humanity will continue to be remembered.
